Death on Fairfax Avenue Was Due to Natural Causes

A death on Fairfax Avenue on July 27 was incorrectly reported as a homicide by CrimeMapping.com, officials say.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department officials say that the death that occurred in the 1400 block of Fairfax Avenue on July 27 at 8:15 p.m. was not a murder, but a death due to natural causes.

A detective in the homicide division said there was nothing suspicious or unusual about the death and they had no reason to believe it was anything other than natural causes.

CrimeMapping.com which aggregates crime reports from police and sheriff’s stations across the nation listed the death as a “criminal homicide: murder” (see accompanying screen capture taken from the site). Weho Patch uses CrimeMapping.com to compile its .

When asked how/why CrimeMapping.com got the information wrong, the detective told Weho Patch, “I have no idea.”
