City Council Welcomes New WeHo Sheriff's Station Captain

The new captain is familiar with West Hollywood.

He may be the new head of the West Hollywood sheriff's station, but Capt. Gary Honings is no stranger to the city.

Introducing himself to the community at Monday evening's West Hollywood City Council meeting, Honings said his return to the station felt like a "homecoming."

"I pinched myself on the way into the station," he said.

Honings spent five years serving as a lieutenant under both Capt. Kelly Fraser and Capt. Buddy Goldman

Honings also served as the West Hollywood sheriff's station interim captain in 2010, until he was replaced by Capt. Fraser.

Now, it will be Honings who replaces Fraser, who is leaving West Hollywood for a post in the Los Angeles County Jail.
