Back-to-Back Burglaries

A man is taken into custody by deputies Wednesday on suspicion of breaking into two businesses.

A suspect is in custody Wednesday after back-to-back burglaries in West Hollywood, a sheriff's sergeant said. The first burglary was reported at 2 a.m. at the Trader Joe's located on the 7300 block of Santa Monica Boulevard. Before deputies arrived, another break-in was reported one block west and around the corner at Smashbox Studios at 1011 N. Fuller Avenue, according to wire reports. "It appears to be the same person," said Sgt. Chris Tatar of the sheriff's West Hollywood Station.

According to Tatar there was no standoff before the male suspect was taken into custody. It was not clear what the man's motives were or whether he took anything from the businesses. Tatar said nothing appears to be missing, but the businesses are checking their inventory. No injuries were reported.
