Alleged Bank Robber in Custody

Man who robbed banks in West Hollywood, Los Angeles and West Covina between Nov. 2011 and Jan. 2012 is now in custody.

A man dubbed the ``Explosives Threat Bandit,'' who allegedly robbed banks in West Hollywood, Los Angeles and West Covina, was in custody Tuesday, authorities said.

William Joseph Allen was arrested on April 17, and remains in federal custody, FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller said.

Allen allegedly threatened to blow up the banks he robbed, and in each case left a fake bomb behind, the FBI said. The crimes occurred from November of 2011 to January 2012.
