This piece was written after attending a pow wow in Weho.

Feel the wind as it breezes through you much like a razor thin knife slicing through to your inner core. It stirs up your essence, as the trees surrounding you sway back and forth in nature’s dance. Warm sun light beams downward glistening upon each and every leaf.

Wake up, wake up, you are standing on holy ground amidst a spiritual presence that will embrace you from your space, and take you into a special realm reserved for you in the here and now.

Such is the feeling and intuitive perception of being at an American Indian Pow wow. Listen to the MC as he speaks to the crowd in a smooth yet stern leadership voice. He speaks of respect and moral rules that must be followed, values that have been passed down through out the generations.

Everything is interconnected and one. When you preserve a culture of people you in turn preserve precious life within your own mind. Surely you can remember when the beautiful green grass beneath your feet gave you more multi vitamins as you played in it than any energy drink you can purchase today.

There is beauty among us that slides within your being much like an invisible doorway there at your side, come out and inhale the spirit of an Indian pow wow, come back to the memory of even more of who you are. We are all connected.
