Sporting a Baseball Cap Doesn’t Mean I Like the Team

What happens when a sports enthusiast meets a fashion fan?

I am by no means an athlete and although I played football and was on the track team in high school, I was probably just an average player.

I don't follow sports anymore, but I do appreciate the passionate fans who have to know the up-to-the-minute score of a game.

I sometimes wish I was a dedicated sports enthusiast, but I don't think I could invest so much into the relationship: the games, the playoffs, the Super Bowl, the winning streak and the losing streak.

I frequently wear many different Lids baseball caps. Why? 'Cause my head is a size 8. Do you know how hard it is to find any fitted caps that are a size 8?

There have been times where some guy will be drawn to my New York Yankees cap. He'll ask me about the score of the game, but I have to tell him that I have no interest in sports and only bought the baseball cap because it fits my head. This can kill any conversation in zero seconds flat.

It's similar to wearing a college sweatshirt or T-shirt and people stop to ask you if you went there because they went there.

Yes, I like to wear Nike, Puma and Adidas clothing too. I'm probably going to get a lot of hate e-mail for not being a sports fan, but what can I say? I enjoy sporting the gear.
