It’s a city-wide celebration of neighborhoods as 10 different neighborhoods hold block parties as part of the annual National Night Out Against Crime. With great food to nosh on, it’s a chance for neighbors to get to know each other in an effort to build neighborhood spirit and fight crime too. The monthly Women and Books book club, meets to discuss the August reading – She’s Come Undone: A Novel by Wally Lamb. Comedian Caleb Medley was one of those injured in the Colorado theatre shooting, shot in the head and currently in a medically induced coma. With no insurance and many bills to pay, a group of comedians is holding a benefit show for Medley, his wife and infant son, born just days after the shooting.
