Thursday's Scoop: Sarah Silverman, Laurel Neighborhood Meeting and Commission Meeting

Sarah Silverman and Friends

Each month, comedian Sarah Silverman brings her zany but oh-so-precise observations about life to Largo at the Coronet Theatre. She also always brings with her a slew of comic friends, making for an outrageous night. This month, Silverman is joined by Bill Burr, Todd Glass and Kyle Dunnigan. Showtime is 8:30 p.m.

Commission Meeting

The Arts and Cultural Affairs Commission meets at 5p.m. in . People living in the Laurel-Hayworth-Norton-Crescent Heights neighborhood and its surrounding areas will gather for a neighborhood meeting. The main topic of discussion will be the . The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Room at 1217 N. Laurel Avenue. All area residents are welcome to attend.

The Listeners

Author Leni Zumas has written a compelling tale in her debut novel The Listeners. Chronicling the downward spiral of a punk rock star still dealing with a childhood tragedy, the book has been called “haunting” and “hypnotic.” Zumas discusses and signs her book at starting at 7 p.m.

Crack ‘em Up Thursday

Thursdays at the are always a treat, offering a chance to see comedians working on new jokes. Rising star Tony Baker hosts the night that sometimes attracts big stars needing an audience upon whom to try out new material. You never know who might take the stage. Dave Chappelle, Damon Wayans and Chris Tucker have all stopped by in the past. Crack ‘em Up Thursday starts at 9:30 p.m.
