Sunday's Scoop: Louis CK, Michael Jackson Tribute and Farmers' Market

Greetings and welcome to City Scoop. Today is Sunday, June 24, the 176th day of 2012. Here’s what’s going on in West Hollywood.

Comedian CK

If there is a comedian who captures the zeitgeist of the nation, Louis CK would arguably be it. Born Louis Szekely, his stage name is the approximate English pronunciation of his Hungarian surname. The 44-year-old comic is the star of the FX series Louie which he acts in, writes, directs and edits. CK comes to for a 10 p.m. show to try out some “rough” new comedy material. The show is listed as sold out, but take your chances if you’re a big fan.

It may not have all the drama of the 1990s campy nighttime soap opera of the same name, but the Melrose Place Farmers’ Market does have lots of fresh produce for sale. Open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the certified market is a popular destination for locals looking to stock up on fresh items to start the week. The market is located on Melrose Place (just off Melrose Avenue) between Orlando Avenue and La Cienega Boulevard. 

Michael Jackson Anniversary

With the third anniversary of Michael Jackson’s death coming on Monday, the has a special show dedicated to the Thriller singer. Comedians and Jackson tribute artists will all be on hand for the show that honors him. Doors open at 10 p.m., show at 10:30 p.m.

• Six Feet Under with Dying Fetus and Revocation at the Whisky a Go Go. Doors open at 8 p.m.
