Monday's Scoop: Presidents Day—What's Open, What's Not in Weho

City Hall is closed, and street sweeping, metered parking and associated time limits will not be enforced today.

Greetings, and welcome to today's City Scoop. Here's what's happening Monday in West Hollywood:

Main Event: Presidents Day

The holiday commemorates George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, both born in Feburary, as well as other presidents. Because it's a federal holiday, banks will be closed, and mail won't be delivered. City Hall is closed and street sweeping, metered parking and associated time limits will also not be enforced today.

Also Today: West Hollywood Farmers' Market

Head to Plummer Park's north parking lot between 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the weekly market, and stock up on ingredients for one of Jennifer Brody's market fresh recipes. Choose between curried sea bass with coconut milk or panzanella with wild arugula, or tell us your favorite recipe.

The Forecast: Mostly Sunny

The National Weather Service forecasts mostly sunny, with a high near 67. The evening will see partly cloudy skies, with a low around 51. Wind will be around 5 miles per hour.

Heads Up: City Council Meeting Tomorrow

Since today is a federal holiday, the Council will be meeting Tuesday instead of Monday at 6:30 p.m. in Council Chambers. Two public hearings are on the agenda: 8863, 8863 ½, 8865 N. Cynthia St. and 1350 N. Hayworth Ave.
