Monday's Scoop: Farmers' Market, Latino Comics and City by the Bay

Laugh Factory hosts an evening of Latino comics while `the Farmers' Market is in Plummer Park. Plus a new book about 15 of the most turbulent and exciting years in San Francisco.

Greetings and welcome to City Scoop. Today is Monday, May 14, the 135th day of 2012. Here’s what’s going on in West Hollywood today.

If You’re Going to San Francisco

In the new book, Season of the Witch: Enchantment, Terror and Deliverance in the City of Love, author David Talbot chronicles a whirlwind period between 1967 and 1982 in San Francisco. That 15-year period began with the Summer of Love and ended with the AIDS epidemic. In between, the city saw sex drugs and rock ‘n’ roll, gay rights, murder sprees, street riots, assassinations, Patty Hearst, Harvey Milk, Jerry Garcia, Jim Jones and the People’s Temple and much more. Talbot discusses and signs copies of his book at 7 p.m. at .

Latino Comics

adds some spice to its line-up with a full slate of Latino comics para divertirte mucho night. Some of the biggest Latino jokesters are in America today will be on hand including Cisco, Jose V, Juan Garcia, Beny Mena, Carlos Loma and Jason Rouse. Showtime is 8 p.m.

's north parking is the place to get some of the freshest fruits and vegetables currently in season as the weekly farmer’s market gathers there from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. It’s always a great place to stock up on locally grown foods, plus start up chats with interesting people.
