Monday's Scoop: City Council Reconsiders Plummer Park Redesign

The controversial $41 million Plummer Park redesign is back before the City Council. Meanwhile an adult-themed puppet show plays at Largo. Plus the weekly Farmer's Market is in Plummer Park.

Greetings and welcome to City Scoop. Today is Monday, May 21, the 142nd day of 2012. Here’s what’s going on in West Hollywood today.

City Council

After tackling a monster agenda in a meeting that ended after 1 a.m. two weeks ago, the City Council comes back with an even larger agenda for tonight’s meeting. The is up as the Council considers altering the original park master plan in response to community outcry. The Council will also hear proposals to extend credit card parking meters throughout town, to and to allow construction of a 30,000 square-foot . The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. in the City Council Chamber on street level of the West Hollywood Library.

Improvisational Adult Puppet Show

Henson Alternative's "Stuffed And Unstrung" (formally known as "Puppet Up") returns to for two back-to-back performances at 7:30 and 9:30 p.m. This show features The Miskreant Puppets in a live comedy-variety show that is definitely for adults only as six puppeteers improvise songs and sketches based on audience suggestions.

Even the Best of Marriages . . .

Is love enough to make a marriage last? That’s the premise behind Deborah Michel’s new novel Prosper In Love. The book finds a couple content in their wedded bliss until work and other distractions soon has them headed for divorce court, while their in-laws and friends weigh in every step of the way. Michel discusses and signs copies of her book at starting at 7 p.m.

's north parking is the place to get some of the freshest fruits and vegetables currently in season as the weekly farmer’s market gathers there from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. It’s always a great place to stock up on locally grown foods, plus start up chats with interesting people.

  • Steel Panther at House of Blues. Show starts at 9:30 p.m.
