BLOG: Good Bye, Tony

A personal remembrance of director Tony Scott, who died on Sunday.

I used to play tennis with Tony Scott. We celebrated breaks between sets with beer and cigars. His loving wife, Donna, was our ball girl.

He once told me how he personally paid for the rain effects at the beginning of Crimson Tide, because the studio wouldn't.

He was that kind of guy. Tony was also one of the most unaffected people I'd ever met in Hollywood. Maybe that was the key to his success. I sure learned a lot from him, and will miss him as one the "good guys."
