My Personal Visit With Jim Morrison

Once not even a fan of Jim Morrison but one night I get a visit by him to my apartment.

About five years ago, on what was a warmer night than usual in December. I was home watching a movie online. When suddenly a warm breeze came through my window and out of the blue I had this really strong sense of Jim Morrison. I was not even thinking of Jim Morrison a second ago but now it felt like it was Jim Morrison and all of his energy was in my living room with me.

First of all I am not even a fan of The Doors and not a fan of Jim Morrison and I do not really know any of his music. But from out of nowhere I am now thinking all about Jim Morrison that night. So much I am thinking of Jim Morrison that I think what is happening and why do I feel like he is here in my apartment with me?

So I begin Google his name and suddenly discover that it’s his birthday that night which is December 8th. So I begin watching online videos about him and listening to his music. So I get the sense that he had been to my apartment building when he was alive. It’s not impossible because my apartment building was built in 1949 and it’s just north of the Sunset Strip. It’s right near The Whisky where he performed frequently. It’s right down the street from the motel on La Cienega Boulevard where he stayed all the time. It’s also right near the recording studio on Santa Monica Boulevards where he recorded all the time which is next door to the recently closed Koo Koo Roo restaurant. Jim Morrison also lived nearby in West Hollywood on Norton Avenue for some time.

My apartment building had many celebrities in the 1950’s and 1960’s who visited and stayed here so it would not be a surprise that Jim Morrison had friends who lived here and visited them here too.
