UpLift Project's 'Twenty 11' Gives Back

One of the most memorable lessons my mom ever taught me was that no matter how little we are given in life, we always have enough to share. Even on the coldest days in Michigan winters, she would give the jacket off her back to someone in need. She taught me to offer my hand whenever I could.

I haven't always been the best son. Who is? I haven't always had the courage to give the last of what I have to someone who needed it more. But like her, I've done the best I knew how with whatever I had to give. 

Today, eight months after her passing, I honor her life by offering my services as a health and fitness professional to survivors of abuse, serious illness and addiction. I founded www.upliftprojectla.com as a means to bring affordable fitness programs to the LA area, because I believe that fitness is the answer to so many of the challenges we face everyday and that everyone deserves to be healthy and happy.

This month, UpLift Project will be hosting a benefit event at nightclub in West Hollywood. Proceeds will go toward a scholarship for an underprivileged single parent to attend Frank Z's 9-month Pilates Teacher Training Program.

Money raised from our raffle will be donated to support Team 2 End AIDS and Christian Graham's (Body360) lung cancer awareness foundation.
