Saturday's Scoop: Rainbow Bar and Grill Celebrating 40 Years on the Sunset Strip

Rainbow's 40th Anniversary Party

Kick off the Rainbow Bar & Grill’s weekend long 40th anniversary celebration this evening. Blogger Brent Mendoza reports notorious Sunset Strip glam rockers Faster Pussycat will be performing all your favorite heyday hits at their old stomping grounds, the Whisky A Go-Go. Doors open 6 p.m. Tickets to this all-ages show are $20.

National Poetry Month at Book Soup

celebrates National Poetry Month with a reading featuring Heather Bourbeau and Noah Blaustein at 3 p.m. Bourbeau will be reading selections from Daily Palm Castings: Poems by Heather Bourbeau and Blaustein will be reading from Motion: American Sports Poems.

The 6th annual event continues Saturday in . Women who live, work and play in Weho are invited to participate in leadership workshops and panels from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., $55 for the day, $15 senior/fulltime student rate. To register, visit www.wlcweho.org.

Public Facilities Commission Meeting

The Commission is meeting at 8:30 a.m. at City Hall. On the agenda is a discussion to amend the citywide Street Furnishing Program to include a new bicycle rack design (inverted u-rack design) as the preferred design.

After some , West Hollywood can expect mostly sunny weather today, according to the National Weather Service. Temperatures are expected to reach a high near 62 and drop to around 48.
