Dr. Norbert Weinberg, author of Courage of

the Spirit


Rabbi Dr. Norbert Weinberg, author of Courage of the Spirit, will be the featured speaker at the Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust, 100 South The Grove Drive, Los Angeles, on Friday,  July 11th, 2014 at 12:00PM as part of the Museum’s ongoing series: Let’s Talk About It: New Conversations on the Holocaust.

Rabbi Weinberg will discuss his book Courage of the Spirit, which tells the

story of his father, Rabbi Dr. William Weinberg, who survived both Nazi and

Communist tyranny, eventually becoming the first State Rabbi of the community
of Holocaust Survivors in Hesse, Germany. Rabbi Weinberg’s talk will focus on
the role of Judaism and Spirituality in conquering life’s obstacles.


Rabbi Weinberg serves as Rabbi at Hollywood Temple Beth El in Los Angeles. He has also owned an education center in Encino 
and was Director of the Central Institute for Jewish Studies in Bet
Berl, Israel. He is currently pursuing further research on the rebuilding of
the lives of the Holocaust survivors in Austria and Germany.
