Women’s Equality Day 2013: A Night in Herstory! on Monday, August 26, 2013 with


Feminist Icon Helen Reddy!


WEST HOLLYWOOD - The


City of West Hollywood’s Women’s Advisory Board will celebrate Women’s Equality


Day with A Night In Herstory! a special celebration commemorating both the


Board’s 20 years of service to the West Hollywood community and the 93rd


anniversary of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which granted women
the right to vote in the United States. The event will take place from 6
p.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday, August 26, 2013, at the West Hollywood Park Public
Meeting Room Council Chambers and Auto Court, 625 N. San Vicente Boulevard.

The program will feature special guest speakers
including Kafi D. Blumenfield,



Member, California Commission on the Status of Women and Girls and President of


the Liberty Hill Foundation, a historical digital installation highlighting the 20th


Anniversary of the Women’s Advisory Board, select film shorts and a reception.


In addition, there will be a special performance from Helen Reddy of her song


“I Am Woman.” Reddy will also serve as the keynote speaker for the evening. The


United States Postal Service, artist Nicolosi and Helen Reddy will unveil a


special pictorial postmark and limited cache envelope which will be available


for purchase with their autographs.

Validated


parking will be available in the 5-story West Hollywood Park Parking Garage.
