West Hollywood, and the fact that the majority of citizens support our city council.
Plus, the pro-petition people made a big deal of saying "you don't have to be for them - we're just asking to put it on the ballot." Now ME wants to have it both ways. And there are now further signs that the pro-term limits forces are getting even more support from important Repub politicians. Why? Because they are using this measure as a Trojan Horse to try to make this progressive community more to their liking. They'd love to point to signs that WeHo is no longer a progressive bastion. My guess is it will pass without active opposition. Not sure that Heilemann and Land even care, particularly since I hear the latter had already decided not to run again long before this - and of course it won't have any decade until after the possible second term of the next President. But the malcontents who populate this thread need to find some way to have a victory, no matter how Pyrrhic the victory might be, no matter how much they allow anti-progressive outside conservative forces to sneak under the tent.
The above list is based on the top stories read during the year. Ms. Lightfoot, I'll check on the most-read blogs...that would be a cool post. Happy New Year, Marie
