An estimated 300,000 revelers packed Santa Monica Boulevard Wednesday night to celebrate at the annual Halloween Carnaval.
No major incidents were reported during the festivities. Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies reported three people were arrested for public drunkenness.
The costumed crowd was made up of kids with parents, adults of all ages and even a few dogs. .
Deputy Steve Harbeson, who came from the sheriff’s Lancaster station to assist with crowd control, said the night went smoothly.
“Everybody’s very friendly and just having a good time,” said Harbeson, who was also at last year’s Carnaval. “This is a place I’d let my kids come. I enjoy being here.”
Earlier in the evening recording artist Rihanna was named Queen of the West Hollywood Halloween Carnaval at ceremonies at Greystone Manor Supperclub.
