LGBT adoption and foster parenting recruitment comes to West Hollywood on Tuesday evening at Hadid Gallery.
RaiseAChild.US has partnered with Hadid Gallery and the county Department of Chidren and Family Services to present this evening's gathering.
The nonprofit organization has coordinated information and recruitment events in Los Angeles and Orange counties, the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City.
"Hadid Gallery is interested in helping the LGBT community build families through foster-care and adoption," gallery Director Alana Hadid said. "We feel it is our responsibility to give back to a community that has strongly supported us. Hadid gallery wants to be a partner in building families of all kinds and promoting a strong diverse community."
Currently there are 400,000 children in the U.S. foster system and 100,000 need permanent homes, according to Raise A Child's website.
"Primetime entertainment is flooded with images of fictional gay parents, such as on The New Normal, Modern Family and Glee,” RaiseAChild.US co-founder John Ireland said in a statement. "As the Supreme Court weighs in, the news is filled with our actual families. It’s time we move on to the important work of living our lives fully and with purpose."
Hadid Gallery is located at 8933 Beverly Blvd. The event starts at 7 p.m.
