Week in Review: Weho Gets New City Council, Mourns Elizabeth Taylor

Also this week, Weho Patch reported that L.A. County's District Attorney is looking into $13,000 worth of credit card charges City Hall employees made last year.

Last week brought and a new City Council to West Hollywood. Re-elected incumbents  and  joined on the platform in West Hollywood Park Auditorium in taking the oath to serve the city for four years. 

, Lindsay Lohan's father, was in custody Tuesday morning for allegedly preventing his girlfriend from calling 911, holding her against her will and causing minor injuries, sheriff's deputies said.

Oscar-winning actress died at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on Wednesday of congestive heart failure. She was 79.

West Hollywood supporters and city officials mourned the loss of Elizabeth Taylor on Wednesday. Mayor Pro Tempore John Duran, who is one of the few HIV-positive elected officials in the country, paid tribute to Taylor’s life at the West Hollywood Park Auditorium. Later, local fans braved the rain to gather at Taylor's "favorite pub." The national holiday was established by Los Angeles volunteers who organized and led the effort in California that won Cesar Chavez Day, the first legal state holiday and day of service and learning in honor of farm worker leader Cesar E. Chavez, according to the official website.
