Week in Review: Walgreens, Centrum Sunset, Duran and Obama on Same-Sex Marriage

The City Council approves the Walgreens project, gives Centrum Sunset project another shot and holds off making a decision about funding Duran's defense. Plus Barack Obama says "I do" to gay marriage

Miss some of the news in this past week? Here’s a review of the week’s headlines.

Top Stories

The City Council set to go into the southwest corner of Santa Monica Boulevard at Crescent Heights Boulevard. Saying it would severely impact the neighborhood, residents appealed the Planning Commission’s decision to approve the project, but the Council upheld the project.

The Council also gave a project set to go into the old Tower Records location at 8801 Sunset Blvd. The developer will now get another chance to revise the project, this time without the controversial David Barton boutique gym as the main tenant.

The Council also met in closed session to should the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office opt to file charges against him regarding reimbursement for meals during which he was discussing city business. The Council has not made a decision yet.

Residents rejoiced at news that Obama made the announcement supporting Marriage Equality during an interview with ABC News.

Fairfax High School who is paralyzed as a result of a blood clot. Students have been holding various fundraisers since learning the news about the junior at the high school.

Local Voices
