Week in Review: Rainbow Crosswalks and Gay Pride

The city paints the crosswalks at a major Boystown intersection rainbow colors for Gay Pride month. Meanwhile Gay Pride weekend arrives with plenty of activities and business in town. Plus the election results are in.

LA Pride weekend arrived in West Hollywood, starting off with a on Friday night, followed by the . On Saturday, the LA Pride Festival officially began in West Hollywood Park, including concerts by rapper Lil’ Kim and rocker Belinda Carlisle. The City Council approved , a high-end luxury brand owned by Marriot. In approving the modifications, council seemed most concerned with noise coming from the bar area of the rooftop pool disturbing nearby residents. Council seemed unconcerned about approving the plan with 112 less parking spaces than the city’s zoning code requires.
