Run by Dr. Monica Revel, the animal hospital at 9000 Santa Monica Blvd. will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., with extended hours for emergency treatments. The site will have a doggie day care area and plans to host pet adoptions once they get established.

WHAP!, a new lecture series co-hosted by the City of West Hollywood and Cal Arts, kicks off Friday, Oct. 14 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the new West Hollywood Library. "Street Art" will feature multimedia artist Sam Durant and contemporary graffiti artist Marquis Lewis (a.k.a. RETNA), who contributed to the library's parking structure. Admission is free. Seating is limited.
