President Obama came to Weho for two campaign fundraisers—one at the House of Blues on the Sunset Strip and the other at Fig & Olive restaurant on Melrose Place at La Cienega. Even though many roads in town were closed for the presidential motorcade, traffic was light and moved smoothly on the streets that were open.

The lived up to the name “grand.” Hundreds of people turned out for the dedication ceremonies and were treated to a party complete with balloons, food and fun, plus, of course, a chance to go inside the new library.

The City of West Hollywood will host its Breast Cancer Awareness Month Kick-Off on Monday at 10 a.m. in the lobby of West Hollywood City Hall. Guest speakers will include Councilwoman Abbe Land, who is also the Co-Chief Executive Officer at the Saban Free Clinic, Vice-Chair Dr. Edward H. Phillips, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and Farin Amersi, MD, Attending Breast Surgeon at the Saul and Joyce Brandman Breast Center.

The city will hold its regularly-scheduled City Council meeting in the City Council Chambers at the New West Hollywood Library on Monday at 6:30 p.m. Parking will be available at the West Hollywood Park/Library Parking Garage at 625 N. San Vicente Blvd. (enter from Robertson Boulevard at El Tovar Place).  Parking tickets will be electronically validated at the Council meeting.
