Top 5 Things You Should Know Today

1. Sunset Strip Parking: Looking for a place to park while visiting the Sunset Strip? Well check out the launch of the new online parking and walking map. It lets you see the public parking options on the Sunset Strip as well as the parking rates, hours of operation and number of parking spaces provided. Check it out!

2. Construction Advisory: Between 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and until next week, the city will be repairing broken and damaged sidewalks, curbs, and driveways of two streets.

  • Flores Street - between Santa Monica Boulevard and Fountain Avenue (west side)
  • Sweetzer Avenue – between Santa Monica Boulevard and Fountain Avenue (west side)

3. Prop. What?! : What do you know about the nine state measures? Read the recommendations made by City Council and the Courage Campaign to help you make an informed decision on the Nov. 2 elections.

4. Halloweenie 2010: The L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center has announced they will be hosting a Halloween Bash. Check out the information on how to purchase your tickets! The center's Young Professionals Council will host the event. Halloweenie will include dancing, an open bar, complimentary photos and music by Tracy Young. The event will be held at the Hollywood Cemetery on Oct. 23.

5. Butch Voices Conference: It's still not too late to register for the Butch Voices conference. It's coming to town at the end of this week. Butch Voices will take place at Plummer Park and will feature workshops, panelists, fashion, comedy and participant discussions.
