Thursday's Scoop: Viper Room to Host 'The Drama Club' [Video]

Greetings, and welcome to today's City Scoop. Here's what's happening Thursday in West Hollywood:

Main Event: The Drama Club

Known for radio hits spanning more than a decade, bands Everclear, Trapt and Eve 6 are performing what blogger Brent Mendoza is calling a “VH1 Storytellers”-style acoustic showcase at Viper Room. Doors open 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20.

Also Today: Mondrian Sessions

Skybar at the Mondrian hotel is hosting Nosaj Thing, a Korean American electronic musician based in Los Angeles. Doors open at 8 p.m., performance at 9 p.m. Arrive early to ensure entry. Must be 21 or older for entry. Entrance is free, but RSVP required.

City Meetings:

• Arts and Cultural Affairs Commission is meeting at 5 p.m. in City Hall's Community Conference Room. New business, according to the agenda, is a presentation on West Hollywood Park Phase IB and Art Wall from Project Manager Dan Adams. The Commission will also receive an update from staff on arts and cultural programming at the library.

• Planning Commission Design Review Subcommittee is meeting at 5:30 p.m. in Room 5 at Plummer Park. Two presentations are on the agenda: a four-unit condominium building at 612 Westmount Dr. and a two-story commercial wholesale building at 8564-8568 Melrose Ave.

It's another sunny day in West Hollywood. The National Weather Service forecasts a high near 78 and a low around 57, with winds gusting as high as 20 miles per hour.
