Thursday's Scoop: Maroon 5, Tom Morello Performing at John O'Brien Benefit Show at House of Blues

The concert for the late musician and composer will feature short sets by some notable artists.

Greetings, and welcome to today's City Scoop. Here's what's happening Thursday in West Hollywood:

Main Event: Love You Madly

Maroon 5, Velvet Revolver, Sheryl Crow, Chantal Kreviazuk, Tom Morello (best known for Rage Against the Machine, now of NightWatchman), Stephen Stills (Crosby Stills Nash & Young), the Forest Rangers with Katey Sagal and Curtis Stiegers are all performing at the to benefit the family of the late musician-composer John O'Brien. Tiers of ticket prices vary from $49.50 for general admission to $600 for VIP packages. Doors open at 7 p.m. This special event is ages 21 and older.

  • The city's Rent Stabilization Commission will hear an appeal for an apartment unit at 1330 N. Harper Ave. regarding the interior and common area painting, bedroom carpets, bathroom tiling and window, according to the agenda. The meeting is being held at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers at the new library.

The Forecast:

  • The National Weather Service forecasts mostly clear, sunny skies and calm winds. Local temperatures were expected to reach 79 degrees, dropping to around 53 by evening.
