Sunday's Scoop: Pickfair Studios Advocates to Rally, Protest Demolition

A protest is planned at the Lot on Santa Monica Boulevard and the city will honor April Fool's by designating 'Kardashian Day,'

Good morning! Here's what's happening Sunday in West Hollywood:

Pickfair Protest

A rally will be held at the offices of the studio lot owned by Mary Pickford and Douglas Fairbanks, led by filmmaker Allison Anders, this morning. The Save The Pickfair Studio blog says participants are encouraged to make protest signs with suggested slogans—"Mary we care, save Pickfair" and "Honk if you support preserving Pickfair Studios." The meeting place is near the offices on Santa Monica Boulevard at Formosa.

Kardashian Day

Weho Daily reports the City of West Hollywood is honoring April Fool's by celebrating the announcement of a Weho location for the Kardashian's boutique. at 8420 Melrose Ave., and according to the blog, "eight curbside public parking spaces will be removed from in front of the store to provide cameras with unobstructed filming angles."

Exit The King

The absurdist play by Eugene Ionesco, translated by Neil Armfield and Geoffrey Rush and presented by Classical Theatre Lab and the City of West Hollywood, continues its run at Fiesta Hall in . General admission is $20, with $15 for West Hollywood residents, $10 rush, and $5 for students or seniors. For more information, call 323-960-5691.

The Forecast

The National Weather Service forecasts mostly sunny, with a high near 69 and a low around 51. Expect breezy weather conditions in West Hollywood, with a north northwest wind between 10 and 20 miles per hour. Gusts could reach as high as 30 miles per hour, according to the weather service.
