Saturday's Scoop: Prang Meets With Residents, Walk Against Cancer, Schindler Concert

Mayor Jeff Prang hosts a town-hall meeting with residents. The Making Strides Against Breast Cancer community walk is afoot. The Schindler House hosts a unique concert.

Got questions about the city? Have something on your mind you want to discuss with the mayor? Here’s your chance. Mayor Jeff Prang hosts a Town Hall style meeting to listen to residents concerns and answer questions. The meeting with the mayor is from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Community Room in the .

Join the fight against breast cancer by taking a walk. The West Hollywood Making Strides Against Breast Cancer community walk, sponsored by the city and the American Cancer Society, is designed to raise awareness about breast cancer as well as raise money. The walk starts at , 7335 Santa Monica Boulevard, and goes to West Hollywood Park. Registration starts at 9:30 a.m., the walk starts at 10:30 a.m.

Schindler and Sound

The Society for the Activation of Social Space through Art and Sound will present ``sound. at the Schindler House: Tape Music'' -- a ``rare'' concert of music composed for reel-to-reel tape, in which four studios of the historic house are transformed into distinct listening spaces, each containing a unique work or collection of works. Featured artists are John Wiese, William Basinski, Pauline Oliveros, Mike Kelley and Jim Shaw, with selections from Gary Todd's Cortical Foundation label that were composed for tape. The concert starts at 2 p.m. at the , 835 N. Kings Road.
