Monday's Scoop: Halloween Carnaval 2011 Edition

An estimated half a million people will hit the streets of West Hollywood tonight for Halloween Carnaval. One of the world’s largest celebrations on All Hallow’s Eve, the city's main event will be held from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. along Santa Monica Boulevard from Doheny Drive to La Cienega Boulevard.

The theme this year is “Become Your Other” and revelers are encouraged to let their alter egos come out to play for the evening. Are you ready?

Other Happenings:

  • ’s SKYBAR is having a "costume mandatory" Willy Wonka Halloween Party from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. The themed spectacle will simulate the famous Chocolate Factory, boast a fully costumed staff, and feature music by DJ Devin Lucien throughout the night.
  • If you're going '80s this year, break out the spandex, tease the hair and head to the to catch cover band Steel Panther. Ages 18 and older. Tickets are $15.
  • In honor of Halloween, the Key Club is hosting the 6th Annual Monster’s Ball, featuring Techneic, Joe Moses, Topic, Terry Kennedy, Young Brown, J King, G Mack, Trigger Nasty and Dizzle. Ages 18 and older, doors open at 9 p.m. Tickets are $15-$25.
