Monday's Scoop: Adult Puppet Show, Crackheads and Historic Preservation

An improvisational puppet show designed for adults plays at Largo while "Stevie Mack's Diary of A Crackhead" plays at the Improv. Plus the Historic Preservation Commission considers a house on Formosa Avenue for "local cultural resource."

Improvisational Adult Puppet Show

Henson Alternative's "Stuffed And Unstrung" (formally known as "Puppet Up") returns to for two back-to-back performances at 7:30 and 9:30 p.m. This show features The Miskreant Puppets in a live comedy-variety show that is definitely for adults only as six puppeteers improvise songs and sketches based on audience suggestions.

Diary of a Crackhead

A staple on the comedy circuit for years, comedian Stevie Mack has won acclaim for his one-man show about addiction and recovery, “Stevie Mack’s Diary of a Crackhead.” Find out how this LA-born comic rose from the ashes of family riddled with crime, pimps, pushers, addiction, gangster ethics and mental institutions as he performs “Crackhead” at 9:30 p.m. at the , 8162 Melrose Avenue.

Historic Preservation

The city’s Historic Preservation Commission meets at 7 p.m. in the . On the agenda is a home at 1125 Formosa Avenue which is being considered for “local cultural resource” designation.

's north parking is the place to get some of the freshest fruits and vegetables currently in season as the weekly farmers’ market gathers there from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. It’s always a great place to stock up on locally grown foods, plus start up chats with interesting people.
