Got Candy? Got Soda?

City installs two vending machines on the ground level of the library parking deck, adjacent to the Council chamber.

Residents getting hungry during City Council meetings or club goers wanting to satisfy the munchies when they return to their car now have an easy solution.

The city has installed vending machines on the ground level of the five-story parking structure beside , adjacent to the Council Chamber.

Two machines – one for drinks, one for snacks – were installed last week.

Sam Baxter, the city’s director of Human Services, told Patch the machines were installed at the request of residents.

“The vending machines were installed as a result of comments that were received requesting drinks and snacks similar to those located in the lobby of the West Hollywood Park Auditorium,” Baxter said.

Several residents have commented to Weho Patch in recent months about the need for the vending machines there, especially with City Council meetings often running past 11 p.m. Residents had gotten used to having access to vending machines at City Council meetings since the auditorium, where the Council met before moving into the new Council Chamber in October 2011, always had them.
