Friday's Scoop: Go Red for Women in West Hollywood [VIDEO]

Beginning Friday, City Hall to be washed in red light for one week to recognize American Heart Month.

Greetings, and welcome to today's City Scoop. Here's what's happening Friday in West Hollywood:

Main Event: National Wear Read Day

Speak up and speak out about heart disease in women today. Each year, the American Heart Association encourages women to wear red the first Friday in February to raise funds and awareness for women's heart disease. Participate in the cause by showing off a favorite red dress, shirt or tie. City Council will officially proclaim National Wear Red Day and American Heart Month Monday in West Hollywood Park.

Claire Bidwell Smith will present and sign copies of Rules of Inheritance, described by as "a resonant memoir of the ways untimely goodbyes echo through the years." The reading will take place at 7 p.m. at the Sunset Strip bookstore. Purchase Rules of Inheritance for $25.95.

The Forecast:

The National Weather Service forecasts sunny, with a high near 74. West Hollywood will see somewhat breezy weather conditions, with a north northeast wind between 10 and 20 mph, gusts as high as 25 mph. It will be mostly clear in the evening, with a low around 53.
