Friday's Scoop: Camp Freddy at the Roxy, 'Inappropriate Behavior' at the Comedy Store and WHAP!

Greetings, and welcome to today's City Scoop. Here's what's happening Friday in West Hollywood:

Main Events:

  • Frederic Neyrat, former program director at the College International de Philosophe in Paris, will present a lecture on "Catastrophe Politics" as part of WHAP!, a lecture series presented by West Hollywood and the California Institute of the Arts' Master Program in Aesthetics and Politics. The event is taking place from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the , 625 N. San Vicente Blvd.
  • Maria Cooper Janis, the daughter of Gary Cooper and a painter, philanthropist and filmmaker, will discuss and sign copies of Gary Cooper: Enduring Style 7 p.m. at . The book is compiled of unpublished, never-before-seen personal photographs, according to the author event description.
  • Animal rescue organizations Pryor's Planet and ARME will host Laughter, Libations and Inappropriate Behavior, a fundraiser 7 p.m. at the Comedy Store. Comedians Chris D'Elia, Russell Peters and Eleanor Kerrigan are among the performers. The red carpet is at 7:30 p.m., show begins at 8 p.m.

The Forecast:

A high wind warning is in effect until Friday afternoon across most of the Southland. In West Hollywood, gusts are expected to die down a bit. The forecast, according to the National Weather Service, is sunny, with a high near 68, east northeast wind 15 to 20 mph decreasing to between 5 and 10 mph.
