The American Red Cross provides disaster relief at home and abroad. Each year, the American Red Cross immediately responds to about 70,000 natural and man-made disasters in the U.S., ranging from fires to hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, tornadoes, hazardous materials spills, transportation accidents and explosions.  People count on the Red Cross to help them in their darkest hour. The support of donors makes it possible for the Red Cross to fulfill its humanitarian mission.

Operation USA is an international relief agency based in West Hollywood.  Operation USA helps communities at home and abroad overcome the effects of disasters, disease and endemic poverty by providing privately-funded relief, reconstruction and development aid.  The City worked with Operation USA on other disaster relief efforts including the Indian Ocean Tsunami of 2004 and Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
