Three Day Rule to Match Up Weho Singles

The L.A. dating website is holding an event June 1 at the London West Hollywood.

Single women in the West Hollywood area who are looking for love will get some help next week from the founders of the dating website Three Day Rule.

The site, which touts itself as the single woman's guide to Los Angeles dating, has organized a June 1 event at the to bring together hundreds of singles who are ready to meet that special someone.

Talia Goldstein and Val Brennan started Three Day Rule about a year and a half ago when they realized how tough it was for women to date in Los Angeles.

“We would try to figure out where to go at night, but we had different guy types,” said Goldstein. “We realized that they go to different bars.”

The site has a survey women can take to determine their guy type, which then suggests bars to visit to meet a certain type of man.

As the company expanded, Goldstein and Brennan began throwing monthly social events for singles to meet. The events have grown, and often draw 300 to 500 people, she said.

“What we’ve done is created a monthly party where we bring professional singles together,” said Goldstein, who is also a full-time matchmaker. “We make it really easy for you to meet 150 people of the opposite sex in one night. It’s a very low pressure environment.”

Goldstein, who is now married, gets emails every month from grateful couples who met at Three Day Rule mixers. She sympathizes with women who are trying to date in this town and admits that traffic and work can hinder many singles on their search for love.

“Just put yourself out there and be totally open-minded,” Goldstein said. “If you meet somebody who is nice and you can tell they are a good person, give them a shot because so often women judge too quickly, and there are really great guys out there.”

The event on June 1, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., will have a DJ and a hosted bar for the first hour. Twenty percent of the proceeds will be donated to the Surfrider Foundation. Tickets are $12 and $15 at the door.
