Mendo Weho Is Open for Business

Eco-artisan sandwich market Mendocino Farms has its grand opening Thursday in the West Hollywood Gate complex at La Brea and Santa Monica Boulevard.

Mendocino Farms is quickly earning a reputation in West Hollywood for its one-of-a-kind creations. From the seasonal slow-roasted pork to the spicy vegan soy-chorizo, looks like there's a new sandwich shop in town.

Weho marks the fourth site for the Wine Country-inspired restaurant chain, and the menu testing hub for all locations. Self-proclaimed "sandwich aficionados" and owners Mario Del Pero and Ellen Chen opened two in downtown Los Angeles, with a recent addition in Marina del Rey.

The Los Angeles Times reported that another is planned for 3rd Street and Fairfax Avenue, across the street from the Original Farmers Market/Grove.

"Our approach is a little different than most of the other guys," explains the certified green eatery on its website. "We like to try to reconstruct 'fine fining' entrees to the sandwich level and take classic regional sandwiches and give them a modern interpretation."
