Hugo's Dishes Out Delectable Deals During 'Intermission'

Chow down on mung bean flatbread drizzled in pesto or a veggie ball smothered in cilantro mint chutney—all for under $5.

It's true. has probably the best macaroni and cheese around. Imagine fusilli baked crisp in a decadently creamy mix of four types of cheese. Is your mouth watering yet? If you haven't tried it, now is the time.

The is introducing an "intermission" Monday through Friday, 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., with special deals on some of their best bites, including the mac & cheese for just $5.

Also at that rate are Vietnamese-style spring rolls, green tamales, nachos, plus two different kinds of flatbread pizza: mung beans and rice with pesto drizzle or Italian vegetable with marinara, tomatoes, artichokes, red peppers, spinach, onions and basil. Both come on a gluten-free bread that is just out of this world, made with rice, tapioca, garbanzo and fava flours with corn meal.

For just $4, you have the option of getting garlic-parmesan cheese bread or two Hugo's sliders, either free-range turkey or veggie ball, topped with mozzarella or vegan cheese, and smothered in sauce (honey chipotle, marina sauce, sweet and spicy BBQ sauce or tika masala and cilantro mint chutney).

"We wanted it to be tapas style for the community to come together and share small plates," said Chris Dallman, manager of the Weho location.

As for cocktails—all priced at $5, there's classic, raspberry, citrus and pineapple cosmos; classic, mango and strawberry margaritas and mojitos at $20 a pitcher.

Hugo's discounted "intermission" should satisfy anyone's craving and likely leave you feeling happy.
