Fig & Olive Announces DineLA Menus

The Restaurant Week promotion featuring discounted three-course meals starts Jan. 21.

Fig & Olive in West Hollywood is again part of dineLA's Restaurant Week, the restaurant announded Friday. The Melrose Place eatery offers a three-course lunch menu for $25 and dinner for $45 from Jan. 21-Feb. 1.

Executive Chef Pascal Lorange’s French Riviera-inspired cuisine centered on gourmet olive oils instead of butter offers the following Restaurant Week options:

  • Truffle mushroom croquette with parmesan cheese béchamel and truffle olive oil aïoli
  • Salmon ceviche crostone with arugula, marinated fennel, and picholine dressing
  • grilled flounder with shitake tapenade, celery root olive oil purée, and confit potato
  • Filet mignon with rosemary, haricot vert, olive oil chive mashed potato, and arbequina olive oil béarnaise
  • Dessert "crostini" with amarena cherry, mascarpone, and pistachio on shortbread with micro-basil

"The menu really focuses on seasonal local produce because (Lorange) really tries to differentiate the L.A. menu vs. the New York menu by utilizing local ingredients," Fig & Olive spokeswoman Samantha Wan said. "He likes to go to the Santa Monica Farmers Market and get produce there, really focusing on what's fresh and what's in season."

Restaurant Week participants must apply to the Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board and are chosen for their local notability and ability to contribute to the promotion's core theme, which is showcasing L.A.'s culinary diversity.

"They usually ask repeating restaurants to come back if they've been successful," Wan said. "This is the second time Fig & Olive has participated."
