PHOTOS: The Abbey Hosts 11th Annual Oscar Party to Benefit APLA

Celebrities, fans and locals come together to celebrate the Oscars and help those combating HIV/AIDS.

As celebrities gathered in Hollywood for the 84th Academy Awards, West Hollywood had an equally star-studded event inside .

The popular gay bar teamed up with AIDS Project Los Angeles Sunday night for the 11th annual "Envelope Please" Oscar viewing party. The event has raised over $1 million over the past decade to aid those combating HIV/AIDS or at risk of developing the disease.

“The 'Envelope Please' has become a tradition in West Hollywood where we can celebrate Hollywood’s biggest night and the fight against HIV and AIDS in our community.” said Craig E. Thompson, Executive Director of APLA, in a statement.

Guests who purchased tickets enjoyed cocktails and champagne with Grey Goose and Beau Joie followed by a seated dinner specially prepared by SBE’s Executive Chef Danny Elmaleh. After the Oscar telecast, KIIS FM hosted a public party featuring DJ Connor Cruise.
