Weho Weekend Watch: What Are Your Plans?

Fun activities in our roundup include a comedy show, concerts and a book signing.

Whether you're interested in catching a live music show, attending a book lecture or learning about volunteer opportunities, there's something for everyone this weekend. Here are some entertainment options for those looking to do something fun in West Hollywood. 

Friday

The British synthpop band Mystery Jets is headlining at the Troubadour. First up is Dominant Legs, a San Francisco-based indie rock duo. Doors open at 8 p.m. and tickets run $16-$18.

Hanson is back, with short hair and wedding rings, promoting its latest album Shout It Out. The band is playing at the House of Blues with A Rocket to the Moon. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $41 for advance general admission and $43.50 if you plan on buying that night.

The Adicts, who have been around since the early 1980s, are gracing us with their presence again; they will be performing at the Key Club. Also taking the stage are Back to Zero and Emovores. Doors open at 8 p.m. Tickets are $22-$25.

Saturday

The Comedy Store is featuring 14 national headlining comics in the Main Room at 9 p.m. and 12 headlining comics in the Original Room at 10:30 p.m. Each show is $20, with a two drink minimum. You must be 21 years or older to get in.

A book fair volunteer orientation meeting will be held for the 9th Annual West Hollywood Book Fair. According to Weho.org, "volunteers [are] needed for information booth assistance, ushers and escorts, arts and crafts, stage crew and technical support, and children's activity assistance." If you're interested in helping out, the meeting will take place at the West Hollywood Park Auditorium from 10-11:30 a.m.

Sunday

Chetan Parkyn will be discussing and signing his book Human Design: Discover the Person You Were Born to Be. The signing will take place at the Bodhi Tree Bookstore at 3 p.m. Admission is free unless you plan on coming back later that day, at 6 p.m, for Parkyn's "25 Minute Complete Introductory Reading," in which case it's $100.
