Thursday's Scoop: Weho Bicycle Coalition Benefit Concert Tonight

Greetings, and welcome to today's City Scoop. Here's what's happening Thursday in West Hollywood:

Main Event:

The new is hosting a benefit concert featuring five popular local bands at Little Bar. Doors open at 7 p.m., show begins at 8 p.m. Suggested donation is $5, with $10 donations getting you a drink ticket. Funds raised will enable the group to pursue projects throughout 2012, which include educating drivers and cyclists about safely sharing the road, surveying residents about bike network improvements, and reaching out to previously-underserved groups within Weho.

Runner-Up: Great White Anniversary Show

Classic rock band Great White is performing at the this evening. The show marks the band's 30th anniversary of first playing on the Sunset Strip and will feature giveaways, guitars and more, with additional performance by Electra and Goro. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $23 day of show. Visit the Key Club website for more information.

City Meeting: Urban Arts Subcommittee

New business includes a presentation on a proposed project by artist Steve Elicker regarding The Lot's Stage I. The Subcommittee will also receive updates on 1021 Ogden Dr., 1223 Larrabee, 1232 King Rd., 1234 Hayworth, and 8120 Santa Monica Blvd., among other urban art projects. The meeting is set for 5 p.m. in the Community Conference Room.

The Forecast: High of 68

The National Weather Service forecasts mostly sunny weather, with a high near 68, dropping to a low around 55. West Hollywood will see calm wind becoming south southwest between 5 and 10 miles per hour, with increasing clouds.
