The Avenues Dress to Impress for 14th Annual Art & Design Walk

The event features an exclusive collection of more than 250 prestigious interior design showrooms, galleries, boutiques and restaurants.

The streets of West Hollywood transformed into a shopping wonderland on Saturday afternoon as high-end interior design showrooms, fashion boutiques, specialty stores, restaurants and art galleries opened their doors to herds of Angelenos for the .

Situated in the shopping mecca of Melrose, Beverly Boulevard, and Robertson, the event, hosted by Jaguar, featured a variety of shopping discounts, personal appearances, food, entertainment, gallery exhibits, product launches, artist appearances, trunk shows, music and cocktails.

Parking meters on participating streets were clad in blue bags, signifying that they were free for event participants. Cars lined up and down The Avenues, and people circled anxiously for ridiculous amounts of time searching for a place to stash their vehicle.

Outside of stores, guests mingled and fashionistas exchanged style tips. People admired window displays and others walked by clad in new accessories. Shoppers wandered from one boutique to the next as art enthusiasts got their fill of fresh and intriguing art.

“I had so much fun today,” said Carmen Melendez. “I spent way too much money, but hey, I got a lot of great deals, so I’m happy.”

The opening reception of still life and abstract paintings by Tracy Effinger Upton at Kreiss was a popular stop for art lovers.

At Alberta Ferretti, guests enjoyed a glass of presecco and biscottis as they viewed the exciting new Spring/Summer collections. DJ Matt D'Auria spun tunes over at the new Calvin Klein store. And art enthusiasts were treated to a solo exhibition by surrealist painter Margo Selski at the Glass Garage Fine Art Gallery.

Food trucks, such as the Nom Nom Truck had lines of people crowded in front as they patiently awaited a treat in between the day’s events.

All in all, the day was a success. Amazing shopping deals, top-notch art, and a whole lot of fun was had by all involved.
