Sunset Strip Music Festival: Public Parking and Transportation

Several parking structures, shuttle and public transportation options are available for the music festival attendees.

The third annual Sunset Strip Music Festival will take place the last weekend in August. The festival kicks off on Aug. 26 at various venues on the Sunset Strip with the Street Fest taking place on Aug. 28. Music fans heading to the Sunset Strip Music Festival may be wondering where to park or how commute to the event. The city of West Hollywood has various parking and transportation options available. Street Closures/Limited Street Access:
Saturday, Aug. 28 will be the Sunset Strip Street Fest, when Sunset Boulevard--between Doheny Drive and San Vicente Boulevard--will be closed to traffic so artists can perform on two outdoor stages and in the venues throughout the day

Access to the Sunset Strip Music Festival from Sunset Boulevard will be limited to residents only, though there will be no additional closures to these two streets past Sunset Boulevard. All traffic between Doheny Drive and San Vicente Boulevard will be re-routed to Santa Monica Blvd.

Shuttle Service:
There will be two shuttles running every 10 to 15 minutes throughout parking locations, circling from Sunset Boulevard to Santa Monica Boulevard and La Cienega Boulevard. Each rotation should take between 20 and 25 minutes. 

Public Transportation:
Use of public transportation is encouraged – mainly bus routes 2/302 (running from Pacific Coast Highway/Sunset to Broadway/Venice) and Bus 4 (2nd/Santa Monica to Venice/Broadway). Those coming from out-of-town can get public transit directions at http://www.metro.net. The ride is free with an MTA bus pass or 25 cents per ride. As an alternative, you may also pick up MTA schedules at City Hall 8300 Santa Monica Blvd or by calling (323) 848-6375.

Bus Lines:

  • Bus 2 – Sunset Boulevard
  • Bus 302 – Sunset Boulevard Limited
  • Bus 4 – Santa Monica Boulevard

Public Restrooms:
There will be 36 portable toilets, mostly located near Sunset Boulevard/Hilldale Avenue and Sunset Boulevard/Hammond Street.  Also keep in mind, restrooms will be available at clubs and restaurants within the SSMF closure such as the Whisky A Go-Go, The Roxy, the Cat Club, the Key Club, and the Rainbow Bar & Grill.
