Well, kickstart my heart. Mötley Crüe is retiring.

The four hard-rock bandmates -- Vince Neil, Nikki Sixx, Tommy Lee and Mick Mars -- made it official today, signing a "Cessation of Touring Agreement" in Los Angeles, effective at the end of 2015.

"Everything must come to an end," drummer Tommy Lee said. "We always had a vision of going out with a big ... bang and not playing county fairs and clubs with one or two original band members. Our job here is done."

The band, which formed in 1981 in Los Angeles and made a name for itself in the rock clubs of the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, will definitely go out with a bang. It will begin an 18-month world tour beginning July 2 in Grand Rapids, Mich., with Alice Cooper joining the group on tour. The tour will also coincide with a film based on the band's book, "The Dirt." Meanwhile, a country music tribute album to the band is expected to be released this summer, featuring LeAnn Rimes, Florida Georgia Line, Brantley Gilbert and Cassadee Pope.

The tour will include a July 21 performance at the Hollywood Bowl, and a show the following night at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Irvine.

The band -- whose hits include "Home Sweet Home," "Shout at the Devil," "Girls Girls Girls," "Dr. Feelgood" and "Wild Side" -- is scheduled to appear tonight on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" and on "CBS This Morning" on Wednesday.
