'Judy Garland' Tribute Show Coming to French Quarter Restaurant's New Showroom [VIDEO]

Impersonator Peter Mac's critically acclaimed musical performance opens at the end of this month.

Judy Garland tribute artist Peter Mac has a new monthly home in West Hollywood. The French Quarter Restaurant on Santa Monica Boulevard has built a brand new showroom designed especially for Mac's show, Judy Garland: LIVE! In Concert, set to premiere Jan. 27 and run weekends through Feb. 11.

Overseen by musical director Bryan Miller, the production features a sparkling selection of songs made famous by Garland, with a few modern tunes thrown into the mix (ABBA, Alicia Keys and Disney)—all sung by Mac.

The performer, who has been nominated for four 2011 BroadWorld Los Angeles Cab Awards (three for "Best Cabaret Artist" and one for "Person to Watch"), is renowned for his homage to Garland, garnering raves for his ability to bring to life the musical legend as an artist rather than a caricature.

“His meticulous impersonation of the iconic actor-singer provides Mac with the opportunity to conjure her essence," Backstage West's Les Spindle wrote in a review. "He’s equally as affecting as a first-rate male singing artist as he is a dazzling female impersonator.”

Tickets cost $12 in advance, $15 at the door, and are available online at BrownPaperTickets.com or by calling 310-871-7563.
