Friday's Scoop: Can the Political and the Religious be Separated?

Main Event: West Hollywood/Cal Arts Lecture Series

Etienne Balibar, a professor at Université de Paris X-Nanterre and the University of California, Irvine, is the featured guest at tonight's installment of WHAP!—a lecture series that ranges from political theory to film screenings about art. The discussion will take place from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in . Admission is free. Seating is limited and available on a first come first serve basis.

Also Today: Living The Legacy Banner Display

Check out a display of historical images celebrating National Women’s History Month in the lobby of beginning at 8 a.m. The banners commemorate famous American women, civil rights leaders and women’s rights activists, including Jane Addams, Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Blackwell, Rachel Carson, and Hillary Rodham Clinton, according to the city announcement.

Live Theatre:

  • Exit The King, the absurdist play by Eugene Ionesco presented by Classical Theatre Lab and the City of West Hollywood, continues at Fiesta Hall in for the second weekend in a row. General admission is $20, with $15 for Weho residents, $10 rush, and $5 for students or seniors.
  • Soul-stirring musical is making its West Hollywood debut at the this evening. The program is funded in part by a grant from the City of West Hollywood through its Arts and Cultural Affairs Commission and will run March 9 to May 26. Tickets are $34.

Reminder: Modified Friday Schedule

The only services available at today will be at the first-floor Permit Parking and Cashier counters. As James Mills , City Hall operates under a “modified Friday” schedule every other week of the year, which results in most City Hall employees having those Fridays off. The Forecast: High of 86

The National Weather Service forecasts sunny weather and clear skies, with wind between 5 and 15 miles per hour. Temperatures are expected to reach near 86 in West Hollywood, and drop to a low of around 54, according to the weather service.
