A special hands-on workshop showing techniques for creating personal, one-of-a-kind books is Saturday at the West Hollywood Library.

The following is a press release from the City of West Hollywood.

The Art of Storymaking for the 21st Century, a free workshop led by artist Debra Disman, will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2012, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the West Hollywood Library, Community Meeting Room. Owner of Artifactory Studio in Santa Monica (www.artifactorystudio.com ) Disman is also an art educator.

By learning hands-on techniques in visual arts, craft and creative writing, participants will design their own personal one-of-a-kind books. A discussion about the function, purpose and meaning of the book as object will also be included in the adults-only event. Refreshments and supplies will be provided.
